Hour long workshop discussing the pros and cons of shooting video at a protest Workshop Roboto Project
5106 Penn Ave. Pittsburgh

This talk, led by Milica Bogetic (Bukit Bail Fund, Civil Rights Corps), will get into video and photography and its risks and rewards when documenting protest, with an eye towards this time of escalation repression. We will discuss the tension between the necessity and desire to document our movements, the use and need for legal observers and attendant video and film documentation, while acknowledging the legal risks associated with it and how to minimize those to the extent possible. We'll discuss several concrete examples of how this has played out in Pittsburgh since 2020 in some prosecutions (and not). Participants will walk away with a basic understanding of how to assess when and what to capture, and how to protect yourself if and when you do.
