The Weather Permitting Concert Series presents Cheikh Ibra Fam, a Senegalese singer and multi-instrumentalist from the legendary Orchestra Baobab, performing live at Hazelwood Green Plaza in Pittsburgh, PA on Saturday, July 25th from 6PM to 10PM. This is a FREE, all-ages outdoor show.
After 6 years singing with the legendary Orchestra Baobab, Cheikh Ibra Fam launched his solo career. He blends Afropop with funk, jazz, soul, and reggae, rooted in his Senegalese heritage and incorporating modern melodies, hip-hop beats, and Afrobeat horns. His songs promote love, tolerance, and justice, and challenge systemic issues.
