The Irma Freeman Center for Imagination (IFCI) presents the book release of "Pittsburgh’s Avant-Garde: 60 Years Inside the Underground Art Scene", compiled and edited by Sheila Ali. The event will take place Saturday August 2nd, 7-10 pm. It will feature the long-awaited book release, as well as an artists’ signing, and a celebration pop-up dance party with local cow punk band ATS. You’re invited: dress avant-garde (not required), dance, enjoy specialty drinks and make a fancy bookmark! Even if you haven't purchased the book, you are still welcome to come have a great time!

"Pittsburgh’s Avant-Garde" book features 99 artists in all media. This historic publication brings together a range of Pittsburgh artists including Duane Michals, Thad Mosley, vanessa german, Andy Warhol, Robert Qualters, Samuel Rosenberg, Doug Cooper, tENTATIVELY, a cONVIENCE, and many more.
