Patricia Bellan-Gillen: Familiar Rabbits and Persistent Beasts

Join us for an exhibition of new works by Pittsburgh-based artist Patricia Bellan-Gillen. In 'Familiar Rabbits and Persistent Beasts,' personal narrative mixes with fairy tales, historical events intertwine with imagination, and a veil of nostalgia blurs the line between fact and fiction. Sacred imagery overlaps with childhood icons and internet news flashes, creating dense, symbolic works.

Using colored pencil and acrylic, Bellan-Gillen creates works rich in contrast—precise, delicate areas coexist with rough, cartoon-like textures. The result is a personal visual language negotiating the chaos of contemporary life through abstraction, symbolism, and storytelling.

Exhibit runs from September 13 through October 26, 2025.
